Worldwide Candle Lighting
On the December 11, 2016, The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting will unite family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon. As candles are lit at 7:00 p.m. local time, hundreds of thousands of persons commemorate and honor the memory of all children gone too soon. TCF’s Worldwide Candle Lighting started in the United States in 1997 as a small internet observance, but has since swelled in numbers as word has spread throughout the world of the remembrance of children who have died, but will never be forgotten. For more information on these events in St. Paul, check out the details here.
Empty Chair Service
December 18th, 2016, attend the Empty Chair Service through River Valley Church. This is a chance for grieving families to acknowledge the loss of a loved one and that there will be an empty chair at their table this Christmas. Attendees will also be able to light a candle in memory of their loved one during the service. Attend a service at one of their four metro locations listed on the bottom of the page found here.
Create Your Own Memorial Service

Whether you do this with your grief support group, alongside your family or on your own, this option can work great for you. Here are some helpful tips if you choose to take this route:
Creating a Remembrance Service
Any kind of service will be special as long as you’re able to take some time to remember and grieve your loved one. Do you know of any other remembrance services happening in the Twin Cities area this year? Make sure to comment below so others can have a chance to join along.
