Helen Leaskas Zubulake

February 07, 1933 - March 18, 2017
Born in Grammeni Oxia, Greece to Charles & Effie Leaskas. Helen came to St. Paul with her family in 1946 and was a true American Patriot.  Helen was an active member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Greek Dancers of Minnesota, Daughters of Penelope, Philoptochos Society, Girl Scouts of Minnesota, The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Arbor Day Foundation, and Minnesota Heart Fund. Helen’s kitchen on Charles has always been the gathering place for family and friends throughout her life. Her gift of hospitality along with a good story will always be remembered. She was much loved and will be dearly missed. Survived by daughter Maria; 7 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandson; brother Nick (Hazel) Leaskas, sisters Alice Capoyianes & Tina Leaskas, brother-in-law George (Phyllis) Zubulake. Preceded in death by husband Chris, son Charles “Chuckie”, brother George Leaskas. Service 11AM Monday at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1111 Summit Ave., St. Paul. Visitation 3-7PM Sunday at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Ave., St. Paul, 651-228-1006 with Trisagion prayers at 6:30PM. Burial at Roselawn Cemetery.
