Alexander J. Adams, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Rochester and St. Paul entered eternal rest at age 95 on February 10, 2021. The son of Italian immigrants, Al was born in St. Paul on May 23, 1925. Preceded in death by wife Lucille, parents Joseph and Julia, brother James, sisters Florence Anderson and Teresa Borkan. Survived by children Patricia (Dan) O’Leary of Sunfish Lake, Jeannette (Sam) Wholey of Pittsburgh, Joseph (Trish) Adams of Portland, Oregon; grandson Benjamin of Pittsburgh; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Rochester and St. Paul. Al attended Washington High in St. Paul and enlisted in the Navy in his senior year, serving on the USS Hamlin, and stationed in the Pacific islands in WWII. He enjoyed a long career with Armour & Co. and ConAgra in southern Minnesota. Throughout life, he was an avid gardener, enjoyed golfing with friends, taking photos and cooking for family, and listening to music. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00AM Tuesday, February 16 at the Church of the Maternity of Mary, 1414 Dale Street, St. Paul, with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation 1/2 hour before the Mass.
