Constance (Connie) Louise Batcher (Daugherty) Born in Illinois on August 9, 1935. She moved with her mother Lois Daugherty to Hollywood California at the age of 2. Connie met the love of her life Ken Batcher (born in Staples MN). They both attended Hollywood High School together and married. Connie and Ken moved to MN where they raised 8 children and settled in St. Paul on Randolph Avenue for over 50 years. They celebrated 57 years of marriage before Ken’s passing in 2008.
Connie was diagnosed with advanced Ovarian Cancer in October 2018 and passed peacefully at home with family surrounding her with love. She is preceded in death by daughter Teresa, husband Kenneth and grandson Aaron Johnson.
Connie made the world brighter with her smile, great sense of humor, upbeat attitude and incredible energy. She volunteered at Children’s Hospital, Hartzell School and the Dorothy Day Center after her youngest child started school. In 1996 she started working part-time at A. Johnson & Sons Florist in Plant Leasing, she retired at the age of 77. She was incredibly devoted to her family, friends and the MN Gophers sports teams.
Connie is survived by children; Bill (Kate), Kathleen Boyer(Scott), Scott (Melanie), Tim (Marci), Tom (Mary), Heidi (Tom) Johnson and Gabrielle (Bill) Schlosser; Grandchildren Amy (Ben), Sarah (Travis), Danielle (Jose), Adam (Jackie), Eric, Jessie (Bryan), Stephen (Katlynn), Eric, Nick, Cassandra, Brittany (Nick), Morgan (Adam), Dina (Sam), Jamie, Blake (Ruthy), Ryan (Bridget), Brett and Nicole. Great Grandchildren, Lexi, Jesse, Jeremy, Jackson, Caleb, Bailee, Ava, Lucy, Nolan, Isla, Luca and Anja.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday February 2, 2019 at 12 noon at the WeyerHaeuser Chapel on the Macalester College Campus, 1600 Grand Avenue, St. Paul. Family will gather to greet friends at 10:00 am at the WeyerHauser Chapel.
