Age 99, of Minneapolis, died on March 10 at Friendship Village in Bloomington. She was born Nellie Amanda Elfstrom in Duluth on September 17, 1920. The family moved to North Minneapolis. At a young age, Nell became the manager of a bakery and worked until she married Elvin LeRoy Peterson in 1941. Nell and Al had two sons, Lynn LeRoy Peterson and Joel Leigh Peterson. Nell enjoyed traveling, golfing, skiing, and swimming. She took art lessons and completed a large number of oil and acrylic paintings with scenes from nature and childhood. Nell is survived by four grandchildren (Mark Peterson, Sarah Peterson, Jill Towle, and Jane Peterson) and five great grandchildren (Isabel Peterson, Jake Peterson, Marlo Jones, Lincoln Towle, and Roxanna Jacobsen.) The family is grateful for the loving care she received in her years at Friendship Village in Bloomington. Memorials are directed to the staff appreciation fund at Friendship Village.
