Age 90 of Mendota Heights
Passed away peacefully on Feb. 1, 2021 at Artis Senior Living of Woodbury. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, J. James (Jim) Walsh and son, Gregory J. Walsh. Survived by sons Tom (June), Stephen, Richard (Crista), daughters Carol (Paul) Lugg and Mary (Rick) Langevin, and daughter-in-law Patti Laughlin. Grandchildren Tom (Danielle) Walsh, Catherine Walsh, Tony (Kelli) Langevin, Thomas (Jennifer) Langevin, Theresa Langevin, Angela (Chris) Score, Natalie Lugg, D. Victor Lugg, Patrick, Erin & Andrew Walsh. Great Grandchildren Henry Madison, Gracelyn Rose Langevin. Rose was a loving Mother. She was born in Faribault, MN, graduated from Bethlehem Academy and from the College of St. Teresa in Winona with honors in dietetics. She moved to St. Paul to work as a dietician at St. John’s Hospital in East St. Paul. After her marriage to Jim and with the arrival of children, she quit dietetics to help manage her husband Jim’s many businesses (AKA his “peccadilloes”): Rental properties, Acme Oil Company, Acme-Nationwide Oil, Tu-Way Carwash and Gas Station, Gas for Less on Como, Igor’s Bar on Como and Dale, The White House Condos, Summit Ave Condo and ultimately was the president of the Thomas Finn Roofing & Sheet Metal Company until retirement. She served on the board of trustees at the College of St. Teresa, Our Lady of Peace Hospice and The Guild, Inc. She was a longtime member of the Guild of Catholic Women. Rose was a Catholic who loved the Lord God with all her heart. She had the peace of Christ at her death. She will be greatly missed. She suffered from vascular dementia in her final years of life. Her care has been a journey: a special thank you to Pam, Sandy, Tatyana and Linda of Symphony Senior Care, her caregivers on Memory 2 at Walker Methodist Westwood Ridge and her extra special caregivers at Artis Senior Living of Woodbury. She was truly loved and appreciated, feisty until the end. A private funeral mass will be held at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Oakdale, MN on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021 at 11 am. Please participate via livestreaming. Interment at Resurrection cemetery. Memorials preferred to Catholic Charities of St. Paul or Hope for The Journey Home homeless shelter at Guardian Angels.
