Obituary of David Alan Roush

David Alan Roush, 79 of St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away at home on Friday January 7, 2022 of natural causes. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Rebecca Roush of Cleveland, OH. Dave and Rebecca lived for over 30 years in Cedar Rapids, IA before his final move to St. Paul. He is survived by two daughters, Denise (Jonathan) of St. Paul, Jennifer (David) of Washington DC, and son Mathew of Oakland, CA. Dave was blessed by three grandchildren; Alex and Ellie of St. Paul, and Jasper of Washington D.C. Dave was originally from Charlotte, Michigan. He attended Michigan State, obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, although he could never decide who to root for when the Trojans played the Hawkeyes (University of Iowa) in football. He spent many years working at Fairchild on Long Island, before moving to Cedar Rapids, IA. He spent most of his career at Rockwell Collins on Flight System Designs. As most will remember, his main love was improving the science of amplified sound and recording. He spent many hours in the lab his son built for him in St. Paul, trying to perfect speaker and amplifier designs. In between, he was often talking about his Boundary Waters trips, and his fossil hunting trips with his friend Dale Stout. Dave is also survived by his two brothers Paul Roush (Patricia) from Michigan and Michael Roush from Connecticut, and his sister Christine Brail (Herb) also from Michigan. A Memorial Service and remembrance will be held at Edgcumbe Presbyterian Church on Sunday February 27th at 3:30pm central.
