Obituary of Robert Lawrence Ramstad

Robert (Bob) Lawrence Ramstad, age 98, died peacefully Nov. 25, 2021, at Lexington Pointe Senior Living in Eagan. After service in the U.S. Navy as a pilot in the Pacific (Lt J.G.) and graduation from Macalester, Bob launched a lifelong career at St. Paul Fire and Marine (now Travelers) until retiring in 1983 as Director of New Products. When he wasn't working or traveling with Marge, Bob loved an afternoon of golf (especially with grandsons) or piloting his pontoon boat for family and friends on Church Pine Lake in Osceola, Wis. His accomplishments include being the oldest living participant in the Macalester Alumni Golf Tournament. He was a lifelong church member and community volunteer - for Little League, PTA and other organizations. Bob was loyal, faithful, hard-working, and honest. He is preceded in death by Marjorie Ann, his wife of 62 years. He is survived by his brother Donald, sons Philip and Robert, daughter Monica, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 11 nieces and nephews and many other friends and family. Service 11AM, Tuesday December 7, at St. Clement's Episcopal Church, 901 Portland Ave., St. Paul. Visitation 1 hour before the Service. Burial with Military Honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. The services may be accessed by Zoom at worship. Memorials preferred to Union Gospel Mission or HealthPartners Center for Memory & Aging.
