Obituary of Gary S. Vadnais

Of Ramsey, MN, Gary died tragically in a car accident in Dryden, Canada, returning with his wife from their annual fall fishing trip on September 23, 2021. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Julie; daughters; Katherine (Sam) Jirik, Karen (Brian) Johnson; grandchildren: Elana, Juniper (Jirik), and Miles (Johnson); brother: Kirk (Susan) Vadnais and many other family and friends. Gary is preceded in death by parents Harland & Viola Vadnais. Born in St. Paul on October 30, 1952.Gary attended St. Luke's grade school and graduated from Cretin High School. He attended Normandale Jr. College and received further education within the U.S. Army Reserve. During his 12 years of service, Gary began working for Paddock Labs as a technician, production line supervisor, and quality assurance manager; he spent the rest of his career working within the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Gary was working for Wyndmere Naturals when he passed. Gary was an avid fisherman and golfer, both passions he shared with Julie. Together they enjoyed time spent with family and friends at their cabin, purchased for their eventual retirements. Like his parents, Gary generously shared his good fortune with others. He loved to garden and to cook for a full house. For the last 30 years he ensured friends and relatives gathered for the highly anticipated annual River Float party. Never boastful, Gary quietly and consistently demonstrated pride in his wife and family, whom he cherished above all.
