Phillip Nelson

Obituary of Phillip Nelson

of Superior, Wisconsin, passed on from this world early August 2021. A devoted family man who met everyone at their level, who loved Scrabble, listening to Queen, and fixing or making things new. Born to mother Ardis (Swenson) Nelson and father Stanley Nelson on December 23rd, 1958, Phillip went on to work as a highly-praised IT professional for more than 20 years, although he will be more remembered for cooking family meals, for taking his children out to the bike trails, parks, zoos, or bowling alleys, and for sitting comfortably in a room with a smile and a joke. Phillip fondly remembered days of his own childhood, biking up and down Superior Street, or out on the lake to fish with his father, uncle, and grandfather. Preceded in death by his mother Ardis and father Stanley. Phillip is survived and will be so deeply missed by his loving daughters Nicole (Brent) Nordstrom of Shakopee, Minnesota, Hannah Nelson of Suwon, South Korea, Marydis McMillan of Pillager, Minnesota, and Chandron McMillan of Brainerd, Minnesota; by his grandson Camden Nordstrom and his granddaughters Cora Nordstrom and Mavis [Pickle] Peterson; by his stepmother Carolyn Noren of Superior; by his sisters Sharon (Marv) Conyers of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Karen [Penny] (Joe) Ross of Duluth, Minnesota, Sandy (Sam) Scott of Superior, and Paula Nelson and Julie Nelson both of Superior. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Private service at Roselawn Cemetery. Private service at Roselawn Cemetery.
