Obituary of Oliver Hanson

Oliver B Hanson, 67, of Mendota Heights, passed away on 8/23/21, while surrounded by his family, after a brief illness. He was born 7/24/54 in Detroit Lakes MN, the the 2nd of 5 children of Donna and Lawrence Hanson. He met his beloved wife Carol of 47 years in their teenage years and never looked back. He is preceded in death by parents Donna and Lawrence. He is survived by the love of his life, wife Carol, daughter Misty (Anthony) Jackson, son Damian (Rebecca) Hanson, grandchildren Zach, Anthony, Ravin, Aliah, James, Hazel and great grandchildren Phoenix and Theo, siblings Debbie (Todd) Seaberg, Louise Falk, Jeff Hanson, Heather (Tom) Heikkila, many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Peanut. Oliver worked as an airplane mechanic since 1985. He worked for Henson, Piedmont, Continental, Northwest, Sun Country, and Jet Pro. He never considered it work because it was his passion. He made many lifelong friends over his years in the aviation business. When he wasn't at work, you could find him tinkering in his garage, working on a hot rod, tractor or other project. He loved spending time at his camper up north, sitting outside having coffee with Carol. Those who were lucky to know Oliver knew he had a zest for life. He didn't get the nickname "Jolly Ollie" without good reason. The family would like to thank the medical team at United Hospital Neuro ICU, Cardiologists Dr. Thomas Nobrega and Dr. Pierce Vatterot and his personal physician Dr. Michael Bozivich for their excellent care of Oliver. It's Oliver's world and we were just blessed to live in it. Visitation at St. Stephan's Lutheran Church 1575 Charlton St, West St Paul on Wednesday September 1 at 1 pm, Service at 2 pm.
