Age 87, of St. Paul, MN, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at the age of 87 in St. Paul, MN. Lavern was preceded in death by her parents Alfred Hall and Ella Schaefer, husband Robert Jagg, and son Michael Samuelson. She is survived by her sons James Samuelson, and David (Elaine) Samuelson; daughters Theresa (Joe) Samuelson-Pyne and Barbara (Tom) Gutz; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Lavern shared the gift of life when she donated her kidney to her then-11-year-old son Michael. Lavern worked as a nurse at Midway Hospital and later as office assistant at the State of Minnesota Retirement System. Lavern loved to volunteer for her church and later at her home at Episcopal Homes in St. Paul. Lavern enjoyed snowbird traveling in their RV camper to Texas and Mexico. Her favorite trip was to the Holy Land. Lavern was a very devout Christian. Private family service with burial at Elmhurst Cemetery, St. Paul.. Memorial may be made to donors' choices.
