Obituary of Chris De Groot

November 22, 1942 - July 4, 2014 Loving husband, father and best friend to wife Ann (nee Welchlin) and daughter Julie (Christine Lyon). Beloved brother of Marlis (Don) Bohner; uncle to Troy Zwart, Teresa Seuferer, and Terry Zwart; and brother-in-law to James Welchlin. Preceded in death by parents Luitjen (Lloyd) and Lily (nee Rust) and many dear aunts, uncles, and cousins. Born in Adrian, Minnesota. 1960 graduate of Adrian High School. Enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1964, served in the Navy Dental Corps and the Fleet Marine Forces as a corpsman in Vietnam in 1967 - 68. A sensitive and accepting soul, Chris loved all animals, music, literature, laughter, and finding common ground with others. Committal Service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery Monday, August 4, 2014 at 1:30 PM. Meet in Assembly Lane #5.
