Obituary of Leona J. Quinlan

Age 81, of St. Paul Died July 16, 2014 She was a kind, compassionate person who loved the Lord, her family and her career in nursing. She was a 1953 graduate of Anchor Hospital School of Nursing and received the U of M's first degree in Occupational Health Nursing in 1987. She took great pride in her Finnish heritage, her 12 grandchildren, and her 6 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Walfrid and Alma Juntunen; brother, Robert. Survived by husband, Tom; children, Tim (Jane), Dan (Denise), Ann (Rich) Smith, Patrick, and Mary (Steve) Wein; sister, Rosalie (Curt) Christensen; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Quinlan and Mickey Juntunen. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Tuesday at the CHURCH OF ST. MATTHEW, 490 Hall Ave., St. Paul. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation at church 9:30 to 11:00 AM Tuesday. A special thank you to the staff at Woodlyn Heights Senior Living and the Hospice of the Twin Cities. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
