Obituary of Lorraine O'Rourke

Of St. Paul, West St. Paul, and Mendota Heights, MN. Passed into eternal life on July 3, 2014. She was 96. Preceded in death by parents, Art and Alice Sweeney, brothers Jack and Bob Sweeney and beloved husband, Bob. Survived by children Mike (Jill) O'Rourke, Jan (John) Halter, Tom (Dolly) O'Rourke and Mary Kay O'Rourke, grandchildren Megan and Brady O'Rourke; Sam and Nick Halter; Kristen O'Rourke, Kelly (Matt) Grilz and Colleen O'Rourke, sisters-in-law Mary Sweeney and Patricia Sweeney. Lorraine grew up on Rice Street, graduated from Washington High School and worked at Minnesota Mutual until her marriage to Bob. As her children got older, she worked for and retired from St. Patrick's Guild. She was an avid Vikings, Twins and Phil Mickelson fan, a sharp card player and enjoyed an occasional brandy and water lo-ball. We will miss her Irish wit, calm in the face of chaos and truly awful singing voice, which she passed along to her children. Visitation from 4 – 7PM, Sunday, July 13 at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Avenue, St. Paul, 651-228-1006. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, July 14 at the Church of St. Joseph, 1154 Seminole Ave, West St Paul. Memorials to donor's choice.
