Obituary of Maryellin Hayes

Molly passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 11, 2014. She was preceded in death, and welcomed into heaven, by parents, LeRoy and Evelyn Zins; brother, Anton Zins; father and mother-in-law, John and Eileen Hayes. Molly was the beloved wife of Michael for 42 years, loving mother of Shannon (John) Stroh, Tim Hayes, Katie (Brian) Elwood; devoted grandmother of Grace, Molly, Michael, Evelyn and Matthew; and cherished sister of Gil (Ruth) Zins. Born January 21, 1946, Molly was a lifelong resident of St. Paul, Minn. She attended St. Luke’s Grade School and Our Lady of Peace High School, Class of ’64. For the past 17 years she worked for the State of MN where she helped many and formed lasting friendships. But her main focus and most treasured role in life was caring for the family she loved most. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. She cherished her wonderful friendships and was thankful to be considered “like a sister” by many. She was such a gift and truly one of a kind. She will be greatly missed but will live on in our hearts forever. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Saturday at the Church of The Assumption, 51 West 7th Street, St. Paul. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 PM Friday at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Ave., St. Paul. Special thanks to the compassionate staff at Our Lady of Peace.
