The goods and services shown below are those we can provide for our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected. Basic Services of Funeral Director, Staff, and Overhead ($2745.00) Our services include: conducting the arrangement conference, planning the funeral; consulting with family and clergy; shelter of remains; preparing and filing of necessary notices; obtaining necessary authorizations and permits; coordinating with the cemetery, crematory, or other third parties. In addition, this fee includes a proportionate share of our basic overhead costs. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.) Embalming ($555.00) Except in certain special cases, law does not require embalming. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as funeral with a viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial or when refrigeration or use of dry ice is available. Additional Preparation Required for an Autopsy ($150.00) Other Preparation and Care for Public Viewing ($330.00) This includes washing and disinfection, dressing, cosmetology, and casketing of the body. Other Preparation and Care for Private Viewing ($195.00) This includes necessary washing and disinfection, and preparation of body for viewing on dressing table, in casket, or in alternative container. Transfer of Remains to Crematory from the Funeral Home ($250.00) Service Vehicle ($95.00) Vehicle for the Transportation of Cremains to the Cemetery ($155.00) Forwarding of Remains to Another Funeral Home ($1955.00) Our charge includes: basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, removal of remains, embalming and other preparation of remains, and local transportation from place of death and to transport terminal. Receiving of Remains from Another Funeral Home ($1300.00) Our charge includes: basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, transportation of remains to funeral home and to place of final disposition. Direct Cremation ($2795.00 to $7390.00) Our packaged charge for direct cremation (without ceremony) includes: basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, removal of remains, transportation to crematory, necessary authorizations, minimum cremation container, minimum creation urn, medical examiner fees, and the crematory fee. Complete itemization before the package price is available upon request. Minnesota law does not require you to purchase a casket for cremation. If you want to arrange a cremation, you can use a cremation container. A cremation container is a combustible, closed container that encases the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or corrugated cardboard and into which a dead human body is placed prior to insertion into a cremation chamber for cremation.
