Marcia and Alex,
I just learned of Frank's passing and am sorry for your loss. Doré appreciated his contributions for the short time they were on the HOA board together. We both greatly enjoyed his art and his sense of humor, once we figured it out.
When Doré died last January after several years of strokes and a few months with a very aggressive lung cancer, I felt and believed that the end is not necessarily the tragedy. I no longer feel that way. The end is awfully tragic regardless. I'm not sure if I should feel guilty for the relief I felt because our anguish is over or if I am being selfish for wishing she were still here.
In many ways, she still is. I know Frank will always be with you as well. Condolences and best wishes.

Dear Marcia and family,
What a wonderful photo of Frank - that's how I knew him and that's how I will remember him!
I worked with Frank on and off for over 25 years, during which time I went from being completely intimidated by his wide knowledge and exacting expectations to a great appreciation of his talent and exquisite attention to design, be it a whole campus masterplan, or a small railing detail... I will miss Frank's presence in this world, may his soul rest in eternal piece.

What a beautiful obituary encapsulating Franks life. You had to be on your toes conversing with Frank because you knew you were dealing with an intellect who was kind at the same time and made you rise to the occasion. A great conversationalist. And funny to boot. A formidable human being in every way.
He created a beautiful family and I’m thinking about you Marcia, Theodora, Alex and Leo. And all who came thereafter.
Looking forward to celebrating his profound life.

I had the privilege or knowing and working with Frank for almost 25 years and I so enjoyed every interaction I ever had with him. He exhibited his intellect and wonderful witticism at virtually every encounter. My life was richer thanks to him. I offer my most heartfelt condolences to his family and all those who loved and admired him.

Working and traveling with Frank, there was never a dull moment. He challenged and was challenging.
He engaged and was engaging. Frank was truly one of a kind and the world will be a much less interesting place without him in it. My deepest condolences, Marcia, to you and your family.

Frank was clearly one of the most interesting persons I have ever known and I am grateful to have enjoyed many years of personal and professional experiences with him. He was exceptionally bright, funny, and thoughtful. Among the many reasons I’m grateful for our friendship is that I met my wife Kate at Vance Creek Farm in Wisconsin which Frank and Dick Williams owned for many years. It was a special pleasure to dine with Frank at the Oak Grille in Dayton’s or at one his favorite Greek restaurants. He was a treasure and will be missed by all. I send my deepest sympathy, Marcia, to you and your family.

Dear Marcia and family,
I know Frank and your family through my volunteering at the Festival. Although from the sidelines throughout the years, I often observed his wit and his kindness.
I’m overseas this year, and apologize that I cannot give condolences in person, but I wanted you to know that even those of us in the outer ripple have seen and been touched by his good character. May the fond memories bring comfort to you in the coming days and more.
Memory Eternal,
Karen Sauro
