Caroline Josephine Frenette

February 16, 1938 to December 19, 2022

Caroline J. (Sullivan) Frenette was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Josephine Margaret (Gaertner) Sullivan and Daniel Francis Sullivan.  She was a life long resident of St. Paul, Minnesota.  Carol Is an alumna of Derham Hall High School (1956). Carol was married to the love of her life Donald Henry Frenette for sixty wonderful years. Don and Carol settled into St. Paul after a brief stint in Evanston, IL and raised their two children, Lisa and David. She spent many years devoting her time to the community through Catholic Charities and The Dorothy Day Center. 

Carol loved spending her time reading a good book, whether it be at their home in St. Paul, the cabin on Half Moon Lake or under the sun in Marco Island. She loved evening pontoon rides with Don and her family, as well as walking along the beach collecting sand dollars. She found her passion for painting in her later years, always asking her family for inspiration from their trips around the world. 

Carol is survived by her daughter, Lisa Frenette, and granddaughters, Josie (Matt Johnson) and Kate Scheunemann. Carol is preceded in death by her husband Donald Frenette, son David Frenette, mother Josie Sullivan, father Daniel Sullivan, brothers Gerald and James Gregory, and her sister Catherine Moe.

Funeral arrangements will be held in conjunction with her husband, Donald, at Willwerscheid Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.  Visitation is at 9:30am, Service is at 10:30am followed by a Celebration of Life Luncheon at the Lexington at 12:00pm.

Carol died surrounded by family and friends; a place she loved to be the most. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers for donations to be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Minnesota Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
