Obituary of Sean Michael Esslinger

Sean Michael Esslinger, 27, of Eagan, passed away June 11, 2023. He was born January 7, 1996 in St. Paul, son of Bill and Jean Esslinger. He graduated from Eagan High School in 2014, where he was on the Lacrosse, Football and Wrestling teams. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Metro State University and worked as a marketing associate. Sean is survived by his parents and his siblings, Evan (and Sandra), Jenna and Quinn. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Emily Olson and his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Sean had a large, compassionate heart full of empathy, a beautiful smile, a great laugh and many Seanisms that always brought us joy. Sean could make anyone laugh no matter the mood, and managed to make a lasting impact on many people throughout his life. His main priority was family. He was extremely close to his siblings, checking in with each of them several times a week and had a vested interest in their lives. He had a special connection with his Uncle Jim who was his confidant and fellow jokester. Sean spent every weekend he could with extended family at Sunday dinner. He had a passion for watching sports and loved playing cribbage, cards, board games, poker, golf, Pickleball, tennis, frisbee golf, traveling and cooking, especially curry with Mom and Hello Fresh with Emily. He was always up for catching a game with Dad at Buffalo Wild Wings. Although Sean was fighting his own battle, he made it a point to help his family and his friends during their times of struggle. Our lives were enriched by Sean's presence.

Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Wednesday, June 21 at the Church of St. Peter, 1405 Sibley Memorial Hwy, Mendota Heights, MN. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church.
