Obituary of Noel M. Neumann

It is an exploration of expression and aesthetic beauty that pours out like a faucet. To me, it becomes an idea born from the mixed palette in my head… a culmination of the wild dreams of hues, textures, shapes and colors.” – Artist Statement, Noel Neumann Noel Morris Neumann, age 49, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes. Born and raised in St. Paul, he later resided in Minneapolis and graduated from Minnehaha Academy High School and attended the Minneapolis College of Art & Design and Minneapolis Technical College. Like all of us, he was a multifaceted, layered person. He was first and foremost an Artist: a painter, drawer, writer, poet, photographer, and graffiti artist (to name a few of his favorite mediums). Noel was a talented artist throughout his life who worked independently and most recently with NeuDesigns. He was a music aficionado of all genres, in particular of electronica, and he could talk shop for hours with the best of any "music head." In his young adult life, he was a techno DJ ("DJ Able") and he organized and promoted many large concerts and events; he loved to spin records and that passion never left him. He also enjoyed film – and pop culture in general – and appreciated all forms of art. He was a son, brother, uncle, artist, and friend. Noel is preceded in death by grandparents, Morris and Evelyn Deschene, Richard and Adaire Neumann; and aunt and uncle Janice and Arlyn Jensen. Noel is survived by his parents, Dale & Sheran; brothers, Paul (Dena), niece, Lindsey, youngest brother Aaron, and elder brother Dale (Colleen), nephew and niece Jason and Jillian Neumann. He is also survived by aunts, Kathy (Del) DeMars and Shirley (Tim) O'Malley; uncle, Rich (Linda) Neumann; and many cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:30pm Friday, February 18th at the Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Ave., St Paul. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 5:30pm prior to the service.
