Obituary of Marjorie McEllistrem

Marjorie Alice McEllistrem (Snodgrass) Age 88 of St. Paul passed away on February 6, 2022. Beloved wife, mother, sister and friend. Preceded in death by husband of 65 years, Gerald (Jerry); parents, Frederick (Duke) and Ursula Mae Snodgrass; brothers, Bill and John. Survived by children, Michael (Diane), Steven, Michele (Bob) Brin, Thomas (Deb), Mary Ellen (Steve) Toninato, Susan (Steve) Robinson, Jane (Bob) Shafer, Paul (Heidi), Molly (Steve) Seidl, Laura (David) Phillips, Sarah (Eric Rolig) and Megan (Ray) Ramirez; 39 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Dory) Snodgrass; as well as many nieces and nephews. Margie graduated from the College of St. Catherine as a registered nurse. While working in that capacity, she met Jerry and they married shortly thereafter. Intending to have 10 children, they exceeded that mark by two. Margie took care of the children while Jerry worked as a urologist. After the kids became old enough, Margie returned to the workforce in Jerry's office, alongside many of her children. She also found joy in swimming with her YMCA mermaids, quilting for her children, and maintaining her wildflower garden. An avid reader, she constantly amazed her progeny with her impressive vocabulary. Margie, like her husband, was a lifelong servant, perpetually putting the needs of others above her own.
