Obituary of Ed Gutzmann

Edward G. Gutzmann, passed away suddenly on January 26, 2022 in St. Paul. Ed was born in St. Paul and attended Marshall High School and received his BA from Gustavas Adolphus College. He was an amazing person who helped everyone and made the world a better place to live. Ed was so proud to be a career 50-year Banker and spent many years involved in Optimist International, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Minnesota Bankers Assoc. and other organizations. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and always loyal to all his dear friends. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed time up at the "cabin" creating fond memories. Captain Eddie loved being on the Whitefish Chain on his favorite pontoon boat and cruising the open waters for a new adventure. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 47 years, Dorothea (LeClair); children Peter (Micky) Gutzmann, Jennifer (Joe) Glenn, Matthew (Dana) Gutzmann, John (Stephanie) Gutzmann; loving grandchildren Amanda (Ayden) Walter, Aaron (Amy) Gutzmann, Hailey, Taylor, and Reeyce Gutzmann; great-grandchildren Sophia Gutzmann, Gilbert, June and Cecelia Gutzmann; brother Gordon Gutzmann; sister Joanne Hinchcliffe; and many loving nieces and nephews, and all his amazing and loyal friends.
