Obituary of Charles Rocky Holt

Holt, Charles Rocky age 66, of Excelsior, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 4, 2016 from complications of a stroke suffered October 26, 2014. Born in Minneapolis on May 23, 1950 to Richard Frise Holt and Mardelle Fayette (Havnen) Holt, he was a handsome, bright and charming man with a beautiful spirit, a piercing intellect, and the heart of a lion. Legally blind, he saw what mattered in life more than most, and had a powerful capacity to rise above personal tragedies and disability and live his life with a rare integrity, graciousness, humor and generosity. He was a dedicated father and son, a loving partner and an incredible friend. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Clarence “Salty” & Eddie Holt. Survived by Mary Zinsholt and daughters Lisa Holt and Lacie Laurent (Nicolas), grandchildren Orion, Erxi, and Xiaoniu, uncle Paul (Jeanne) Havnen, niece Holly Holt, and many friends and relatives. Rocky was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Visitation at 10 AM Friday at Lakewood Chapel with service at 11:30 AM and interment to follow, with a lunch reception afterwards.
