Louise Bakken

Obituary of Louise I. Bakken

Louise, age 55, of Brooklyn Park formerly of Apple Valley was called to be an angel for God tragically too soon on March 16, 2016. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and “Oma” who will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Louise was born to John and Joan Forschler on October 16, 1960. She spent her childhood exploring the muddy banks of the Mississippi River in Brownsville, MN. Her love of Brownsville stayed with her throughout her life. In 1981, she married Rick Brink, moved to the Twin Cities, and together raised three boys, Monty, Scotty, and Ricky. She was extremely proud of all the accomplishments of her children and loved watching their lives flourish. Louise was a valued employee at the Star Tribune, where she had worked in finance for 36 years. Later on in life, Louise became “Oma” to her grandchildren Jaxun and Ellee. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and her legacy as “Oma” will continue on to future grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren were proud witnesses to her second marriage to Timothy Bakken. In the few short years they had together, Louise lived life to the fullest. These years were some of her best as they brought back her youthful enthusiasm and joy of life. She is survived by her loving husband: Tim Bakken, her firstborn: Monty Brink, wife Rebecca, children Jaxun and Ellee, her second son: Scott Brink, wife Emily, and her youngest: Ricky Brink, fiancé Kimberly. She is also survived by her siblings: Linda, Jim, Joe, Heidi, and Karen as well as her extended family and beloved animals: Lucy, Ginger, Mally, and Echo. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Joan Forschler, sister Jane, and beloved black lab, Banjo. Visitation at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 61 Mississippi St NE, Fridley, Friday 6-7:30PM and Saturday 2-4PM at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Avenue; Saint Paul, 651-228-1006 followed by the Memorial Service at 4PM.
