Obituary of Lawrence Hill Lyman, Jr.

Age 89, of St. Paul MN Passed peacefully Jan 14, 2016 Loving husband of 59+ years with hardly a day apart from the light of his life, bride Eleanor (Zachman). Cherished father of daughter Vicki (David Erickson); sons Dave (Linda), Bruce (Tina), John (Dorothy), Andy (Megan), and Chris. Loving grandfather to fourteen adoring grandchildren. Revered father-in-law, uncle, mentor, tireless gardener, and avid tennis player. Decades long St. Paul resident, neighbor and friend to many with his trademark honest, gentle manner, generosity and wry wit. Very sharp with all things electro-mechanical (MSME MichiganState), Larry made significant technical and managerial contributions over 38 years of service to Honeywell International. He honorably served during WWII in the Navy – USS Birmingham. Truly a Gentle-man, he will be dearly missed. Survived by his sisters Margaret (McKnight) and Jeanne Hill. Preceded by parents Lyman Lawrence and Marguerite (Ryan), sisters Mary (Hart) and Pat (Hamilton). Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Thursday, Jan 21 at the CHURCH OF ST. MARK, 2001 Dayton Ave., St. Paul. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Ave., St. Paul 4-7 PM Wednesday, Jan 20 and at church ½ hour prior to Mass. Memorials preferred to the Church of St. Mark.
