Jakob Kakish

Obituary of Jakob A. Kakish

January 6, 1993 – December 28, 2015 Three and a half years ago Jakob Kakish was diagnosed with Leukemia. On Monday December 28, 2015 a week before his 23rd Birthday he entered the gates of heaven to be with the Lord, his father Issa and uncle Salim. During his three and a half year battle he never complained or allowed the words “it’s going to kill me” come out his mouth. Jakob had the courage, determination and will power of an army. Jakob was raised by an amazing family from the day he was born, his grandpa and grandma Samir and Yasmine and his many aunts and uncles on the Kakish side. Jakob was loved by so many unconditionally which taught him to love so many and so much. Jakob leaves many memories behind in the lives he touched from the day he was born. He will be greatly missed. Jakob is preceded in death by his father, Issa; uncle, Salim and cousin, Omari. He is survived by his parents/grandparents Samir and Yasmine Kakish; uncles, Saed, Raed, and Muhannah; his aunts Sue(Charles) Mayse and Ranya(Mark) Phelps; his siblings Caleb and Britney; his many cousins, especially the ones he considered his brothers and sisters, Anthony, Breauna, Charles, Austin, Josiah, Kelly and Joslynn; and finally his Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church family. Visitation will be held at Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1250 Oakdale Ave, West Saint Paul, MN 55118 Monday, January 4th from 4-8 with a Trisagion Service at 7pm.
