Obituary of Jerry Norsby

age 79, passed away December 8, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Gerald was born to Harry and Gladys Norsby on January 16, 1936 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He served in post-war Japan with the U.S. Army and graduated in 1960 from the U of M School of Journalism. He retired after 32 years at Ford Motor Company as a Human Resources executive. Jerry was an active volunteer all his life, serving with Highland Park Business Association, St. Paul SCORE, Tri-County MADD Chapter, and as President of the St. Paul Jaycees. He also volunteered with Meals on Wheels, DARTS, and Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, as well as being an active member of the Republican Party for over 50 years. Jerry was a dedicated member of his church and took great joy in serving his Lord and Savior. Gerald was preceded in death by his son, Daniel, and sister-in-law Janet Anderson. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn, his children, Laura (Eugene) Lyons, Randall, and Gerrilyn (John) Peck. He took great pride in his 8 grandchildren, Amanda, Danielle, Ryan, Diane, Nicole, Jennifer, Emily, and Katherine, and one great-grandson, Skyler. Also survived by sister, Judy (Al) Linder, sisters-in-law Marjorie Morris and Judy (Phil) Hove, brother-in-law Roger Anderson, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service Monday, Dec. 14, 11am at Peace Reformed Church, 2180 Glory Dr., Eagan, with visitation 1 hour prior. Burial with Military Honors at Acacia Park Cemetery.
