Obituary of Jay Chadima

Age 85 Jay went to his eternal rest with faith and in peace on June 11, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Jay was born and raised in St. Paul. He lived and worked in St. Paul all of his life and wintered in AZ for many years. He loved his family and his many friends. He lived life to the fullest. He had many diverse interests including farming, boating, hunting, fishing, travelling and enjoyed various building projects. Jay was a pioneer in McDonald’s Restaurants. He was dedicated, involved and working for nearly 50 years until he retired at age 78. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 61 years, Gloria (Mansfield); daughters, Jayne (Ron) Lieske and Jodi (Steve) Wolf and son David (Cheri) Chadima; 5 Grandchildren, (Kyle, Chad, Luke and Hootie Lieske and Rachel Chadima). Also, his loyal and famous 4 legged friend, Freddie. The family would like to thank his long-term physician Dr. George Morrison, Internist and Dr. Stuart Bloom, Oncologist. As well as the staff at Abbott Northwestern Oncology Unit and Allina Hospice Service who all provided excellent and compassionate care, especially Mary Ann, Katie, and Enid who cared for, laughed and cried with Jay and his family. The family requests memorial gifts be made in celebration of Jay to: Saint Paul Children’s Ronald McDonald Family Room, c/o Children’s Health Care Foundation, 2910 Centre Point Drive, Roseville, MN 55113 or to donor’s choice. Visitation 4-8pm Monday, June 22 at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Ave, St. Paul. Service 11am Tuesday, June 23 at Grace Church, 9301 Eden Prairie Rd, Eden Prairie Door 2 Entrance.
