Obituary of James Helm

James (Jim) Helm age 68 of Eagan passed away unexpectedly on February 19, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Sadie and sister, Kathleen. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Maureen; his two daughters, Heather (Jonathan) and Jennifer (Russell); granddaughter, Lillyana; sisters, Mary Jo (Douglas) and Barbara (Dennis); brothers, John (Julie) and Joseph. Jim grew up in South Saint Paul, was a Vietnam veteran and worked for more than 30 years as an airline mechanic and engineer at Northwest Airlines. As an avid fisherman we are comforted in knowing that Jim is probably now at his favorite lake with his thermos of weak coffee, a fishing pole in one hand and a dairy queen ice cream cone in the other. Come share memories of Jim's life with us with a gathering of friends and family from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Thursday February 26th at the Willwerscheid Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at Noon. Following the memorial service we will continue our celebration of Jim's life at the Gallagher-Hansen VFW Post 295 in So. St. Paul, 111 Concord Exchange S., South St. Paul. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
