Obituary of Ellen Maria McGarty

Ellen Maria McGarty of Saint Paul passed away peacefully, and entered into eternal life on Monday, January 5, 2015. She was born August 12, 1927 in Mauston, Wisconsin to Pat and Jane McGarty. Ellen was a graduate of UW Stout, and a longtime head dietitian of St. Paul Ramsey Hospital in St. Paul, MN. She was full of life, loved to travel the world, and play bridge. She was deeply proud of her Mauston, WI heritage, and was devoted to her Catholic faith and charities. She will be deeply missed. Ellen is survived by sisters Alice Clark of Dubuque, Iowa and Rita (Richard) Goepel of Hartland, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her nephews and nieces, Patrick (Deb) Goepel, Richard (Deb) Goepel, Daniel Goepel, Chris (Kirk) Udovich, and Stephanie McGarty. She is further survived by grand nephews and nieces, RJ and Danielle Goepel, Anthony and Paul Goepel, CeAnn and Kylee Udovich, as well as many friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Pat and Jane McGarty, brother Jim, and brother-in-law Richard Clark. Visitation will be from 9am until the time of the funeral mass at 10am on Friday, Jan. 9 at The Church of St. Mark, 2001 Dayton Ave., St. Paul, MN. Luncheon to follow. There will also be a service held in Mauston, Wisconsin with the visitation beginning at 9:30am until the time of the funeral mass at 11am on Saturday, Jan. 10 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 325 Mansion St. Mauston, WI. Burial and Luncheon to follow. The family would like to thank the staff at Eagle Crest and Janet Margolis for all their love and exceptional care. In our hearts a memory is kept of the one we love and will never forget!!!!
