Obituary of Elaine Frances Flood

Of St. Paul, MN After 88 years of joyful living, her sun set on September 9, 2014 She brought love and laughter to all – as a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister and friend. Survived by her children- Sean (Cristina), Patrick (Angela), Colleen (Bernie) Lancette, Maureen (David) Grau, Terri Benick, Tim (Patty), Mary (Jeff) Ranta, Michael (Lisa), Joe (Kaonou), Monica (Tom) Dobihal, Joelaine (Doug) Monson, Nick (Jill), Tom (Katie), her forty-nine grandchildren and their sixteen spouses; her thirty-eight great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Joe Flood; son, Danny; grandchildren, Ryan Patrick, Jack Thomas and Shauna Panou; parents, Ray and Mary Bopp; brother, Ray Bopp and sister, Marie Dill. She lived her 88 years with much grace, dignity and a wonderful sense of humor. Her love of family, friends and life was surpassed only by her love of God. Her indomitable spirit touched all who came into her path- sharing her chocolate chip cookies; pouring a quick cup from her coffee pot; years of volunteering at St. Joe's Hospital; the exuberant and unfailing cheering at a game; her table at Davanni's; her daily prayers at Mass. Elaine's legacy is in the lives she touched; the people she consoled; the smiles she created, and the joy she spread. Her generosity knew no bounds. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Tuesday at the CHURCH OF THE ASSUMPTION, 51 W. Seventh St., St. Paul. Burial following Mass at Resurrection Cemetery 2105 Lexington Avenue South, Mendota Heights. Visitation 4-8 PM Monday at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Ave., St. Paul and at church ½ hour prior to Mass.Memorials to the University of St. Thomas or Saint Joseph's Hospital.
