Obituary of Richard M. Coomer

Richard Michael Coomer “RMC” Age 60. Passed away accidentally on January 20, 2014. Preceded in death by father Paul and brother Bud. Survived by wife Carol; mother Marydella; mother-in-law Marcella Hoemke; children Bill, Kim, and Mike (Kristin) Erlandsen and Jodi (Dennis) Hemminger; grandchildren Rachel, Erika, Devante, Kate, and Dennis, Jr.; sister-in-law Darlene; nephew Jesse; niece Lilee; and many other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Service 1PM Saturday, January 25 at The Recovery Church, 253 State St., St. Paul. Gathering of family and friends one hour prior to service at church. Memorials preferred to Confidence Learning Center, Brainerd, MN. Rich grew up in Bedford Park, IL with Mom, Dad and brother, Bud. During Junior High and on into High School, Rich was very active in the Tribe of Delavan (this was a youth group that studied American Indian Culture and they attended many pow-wows). Also in high school he was very active in musical and theatre productions. After graduating from high school he attended college, graduated and headed to Denver, CO to further his education and pursue his dream in the performing arts. After a quick stint back in Chicago visiting family, he hit the road to Minnesota. In 1996 he met the love of his life, Carol. They were married in 1998 and lived in Eagan and W. St Paul. Rich became an instant loving, nurturing and caring Husband, Dad and Papa. His happiest times were spent with the five grandkids and son, Bill. Some special memories included: Confidence Learning Center, Third Liar Skate Park, Dance Recitals, Music Recitals, and Boy Scout events. These are just a few of the many memories that reflect Rich’s love for Carol and his family that they will treasure forever. “WLYMTYLU”
