Obituary of Val Morehouse

age 91, of West St. Paul, died of pneumonia at home. Born in Melrose, Minnesota, on November 26, 1922, the son of Sovelen Michael and Daisy Rachel (Wilson) Morehouse. A 1941 graduate of St. Cloud Tech High School, he went on to earn an engineering degree in 1944 at the University of Minnesota and a law degree in 1954 from William Mitchell College of Law, and had a varied and successful career as a consulting civil engineer, lawyer and administrative law judge. Survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Alice (née Schaap); children Valerie (Mark Werness) and David (Christie Paulsen); grandchildren Eric Werness (Elizabeth), Brent Werness, Ellen Morehouse (Jordan Narvey), Lindsay Morehouse and Hugh Morehouse; and great-grandson, Nathaniel Werness. Preceded in death by his sisters, Golden Morehouse and Zola Plucinik. Service, 2pm, Thursday, January 16, at Willwerscheid West-Heights Chapel, West St. Paul, 651-457-7938.
