Obituary of Mary Sciamanda

Age 82 ~ Of Apple Valley Passed away peacefully on 1/6/2014 Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, John; her children Rob (Christine), Mary Beth (Tim) Mitchell, Christopher, John Mark (Susan), Paul, and Susan (Tracy) Juels; her grandchildren Rachel (Josh), Brittany, Tony, Suzie, Adam, Marnie, Maddie, Titan, Roman, Marco and Jonathan; her great-grandchildren Tyler and Cadence; and many more family and friends. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Mary put herself through nursing school and worked in the polio and and respirator wards at Cleveland Hospital. She met her husband John at a fraternity party, they married 4 years later and moved to Pennsylvania to raise their family. Over the years, they lived in Massachusetts, Minneapolis, Edina, Arizona and Apple Valley. During the last 40 years, their true home has been their cherished lake home on Whitefish Lake. Their retirement was busy with family and friends visiting them at the lake. Visits always included great food, boat rides, chocolate chip cookies, playing Hearts and s’mores at the bonfire. Mary also loved knitting, reading, cooking and was proud of her orchids. Mary was fiercely devoted to her family and wrapped us all in her love and attention. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Monday 1/13, from Noon – 3:00 PM at Willwerscheid Natural Burial and Cremation, 235 Wentworth Ave., W., West St. Paul, 651-457-7938.
