Obituary of Agnes Catherine McCluney

Agnes Catherine (Stelter) McCluney, age 91. 

On February 26, 2023, her number was called to join family and friends in heaven.  

Survived by children Kathleen Engebretson and Mark (Karen) Simmer, grandchildren Marae, Jacqueline (Peter), Emily (Will), Julia (Isaac), Tyler and Luke; great-granddaughters Piper, Olivia, Magdalene, Adelaide, Isabella, Quinn and Evelina.  Also survived by siblings Jerry, Laura (Ken), and Steve and brother/sister-in laws, Evie, Clarence and Barb and many nieces and nephews. 

Preceded in death by parents Frank and Laura, husband Don, siblings and brother/sister in-laws Frank, Mary Lou (Claude), Tony (Gayle), Jean Marie, Judy, and Joe and many other family and friends. 

The greatest joys of her life were spending time with her family.  She served in the U.S. Marine Corps.  She spent most of her career at Burlington Northern Railroad.  She was a talented seamstress and crafter and an avid reader. 

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in West St. Paul.  Livestreaming of the Mass can be accessed on the church website at https://churchofstjoseph.org/.  Visitation will be before Mass from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.  Family will have a private burial service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on March 27, 2023. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to be given to Neighbors, Inc., 222 Grand Avenue West, South St. Paul, MN 55075.
