Obituary of Stanley J. Lathrop

On a glorious Sunday morning August 6^th, 2023, Stanley Lathrop passed away peacefully in Roseville, MN. Stanley grew up in Napa Valley California with is parents Helen and Paul Lathrop, his brother Vernon and sister Marion. He received a B.A. from Colorado College where he played college football and earned the nickname “Otis” Lathrop. Continuing his education, Stanley earned his MBA in International Business from Thunderbird College. As a Sales Executive, Stanley spent many years traveling internationally introducing advanced medical technology in cardiac and surgical clinics.

Stanley was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and uncle. He spent much of his time with his family and extended family - telling stories about growing up, talking sports or worldly issues and sharing love and laughter. Growing up Stanley learned the importance of welcoming and influencing the lives of immigrants from his parents. Throughout his life he remained committed to this calling in numerous different ways, touching many lives positively and deeply.

Stanley is survived by his current wife Estrella Elena Rivera Escobar and daughter Krystell Thiesen-Escobar (Ben Thiesen) and grandchildren Benjamin, Santiago and Jonas. He is also survived by his former wife Maria Lathrop and his children Erica Lathrop-Creer (Dion Creer) Chris, Jeff, Paola and Yannet Lathrop. “Otis” has a great love of ice cream, and his family is certain he is now happily enjoying plenty of ice cream, with his family and friends in heaven.
