Peter John Gubash

Gubash, Peter John, age 88 of St. Paul, MN born May 30, 1935, passed away, Monday, August 28, 2023 surrounded by his family, and serenaded into the Loving Arms of our Lord, and Blessed Mother.

Peter is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary (McMahon), parents Michael & Mary (Leach), his brothers/wives: George (Sarah), Richie (Delores), Joe (Marlys), Eddie (Theresa).

Peter is survived by his daughters: Anna (David Grimes), Elizabeth (Scott Matson), Yvonne (Michael), Eileen (Tom Myers), Jessica (Adam Skoda)

Shidue (Grandpa) was deeply LOVED by his grandchildren. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Peter was also loved by his many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Peter's life will be remembered in his service to our country as a member of the 133rd Field Maintenance Squad. He was so proud to protect and serve this great Nation. Peter's life work was as a master tool and dye Machinist for over 60 years, working just until two months ago. He had a genius mind, having invented many practical things, and being creative in his work; especially with the creation of his hearts. He enjoyed gifting his hearts to anyone he encountered. He loved many things including his work and supporting his family.  He will be remembered for his dedication, always putting God & Family above all else.  His heart was full when we were together, wishing we all lived in one giant compound with a wing for each family. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:

Visitation - 4 pm-8 pm Tuesday, September 5 at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Avenue, St. Paul

Also, Wednesday, September 6 from 9:30 am - 10:30 am, leaving for the Church at 10:30 am.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 am Wednesday, September 6 at Holy Family Maronite Catholic Church, 1960 Lexington Avenue South, Mendota Heights

Interment following Divine Liturgy at Calvary Cemetery, 753 Front Avenue, St. Paul, with Military Present.

Luncheon following funeral and burial.

We would like to thank ALL the Allina doctors, nurses and staff throughout the years that were so wonderful to Sweet Pete. Also, a very special shoutout to the Allina Hospice staff! They are incredible caregivers. God bless all that they do for so many.
