Mary has been a special friend to me at Carondelet Village, where I have been blessed to visit for the last 6 years. We first met in the swimming pool for exercise and good conversations. Sometimes we would sit together for “Sip and Sing” nights; other times we would meet in the library there where she enjoyed reading newspapers. Mary was one of the Carondelet residents who welcomed me to their book club and shared her intellectual curiosity with us. I will remember her with aloha and gratitude for her sense of humor and determination.

Mollie, Jason, Stephanie, Connor, Ashling, Sinead & Liz,
We are so very sorry for the loss of your Mother, Grandmother, and Mother-in-Law. Mary was such a blessing to so very many in her long life as she exuded dignity, grace as well as her mirth. She modeled for everyone her deep and abiding faith in God as well as her happiness and humor. Mary had a gift of laughter and her exuberant and infectious laugh changed even the gloomiest day with the sparkle in her eye and the joy we all received when she laughed. She believed that God had a wonderful sense of humor and she experienced it frequently. Mary always ‘got it’. When she laughed, she LAUGHED and we all wanted to be part of whatever it was. She will be missed deeply by a wide circle of people who loved her and shared her daily life at Carondolet as well as friends from long ago and her family. She lived her life with integrity, kindness and generosity. These attributes will guide and comfort us in our loss going forward into a life without her. Such a profound loss of that of Mother, Grandmother and Mother-in-Law as well as friend is hard to bear as we look backwards at all of our memories and forward lo to a future without her. She left behind in all of us a kernel of light to ignite and guide us forward with that gentle love and the protection she always afforded us as she gently guided us all with her strength of conscience, humanity, fairness, integrity and love. She treated others as she wished to be treated as her light was an inspiration to many others’ outside of her family.
We are so grateful for the last 28 years to have shared in the joys of our little family created by the marriage of our son and Mary’s Daughter. We shared in many traditions and celebrations as well as losses throughout the years. We will be forever grateful for Mary in our lives. She will always remain to be a guiding light to us. We know she is resting in peace and in the presence of our Lord & Savior and the comfort of others who went before. May God comfort you with the promise of eternal life and another day to live beside Him as well as Mary and those who have gone before us. Godspeed Mary! With love, Marcia & Ken
