Donald B. Whetsel

Whetsel, Donald B. age 97. Passed away October 26, 2023 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis, MN. Don was preceded in death by his mother Blenda, wife Helen and twin brother Donovan. He is survived by daughters, Deborah (Joseph) Floeder and Cheryl Ali; brother David; grandchildren Sara (Hisham) Ismail, Melissa (Nathaniel) Dalbec and Matthew Floeder; great granddaughters Aramina and Evalyn Dalbec, and great grandson Mazin Ismail; many loving relatives and friends. Don grew up on the farm near Mahnomen, MN. He was drafted into the Army in 1944, serving in the South Pacific in the Philippines Liberation and the Japanese Occupation. Don retired in 1981 after 30 years as a warehouseman for International Harvester in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held Monday November 6 from 5-8 PM at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Ave., St. Paul MN 55105; Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 7, with visitation starting at 10 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Community, 1079 Summit Ave, St. Paul, MN 55105. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
