Obituary of Michael McGrath Froats

Froats, Michael “Mikee”, 77, St. Paul, MN, passed away on October 31, 2023. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Francis P. McGrath (Sheila), sister Sheelagh, and brother Patrick. Survived by loving daughter Michael “Muffy” O’Hara (Justin), grandchildren Daniel, Daphne and Bronwyn; sisters Colleen Cox, Mav Bloms (Austris), Dillon Kromhout (Jim), brother Terry McGrath (Jane Austin), sister-in-law Helen McGrath, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mikee was born and raised in St. Paul in a large loving family. She attended Derham Hall and holds a Master's Degree from the U of M, Phi Beta Kappa. She was a dedicated and admired employee of the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis for over 20 years. Mikee most loved traveling to Montclair, NJ, and Fort Myers, Florida to visit her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren, spending holidays and precious time together. She loved The Constitution of the United States and always, always loved a good debate! Mikee touched so many lives and will be missed by all. Her life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00am Sat. Nov. 4, at The Cathedral of St. Paul (239 Selby Ave. St. Paul) Visitation 4-7PM Fri. Nov. 3 at Willwerscheid Funeral Home (1167 Grand Ave., St. Paul). Private interment.
