Obituary of Lois Margaret Mazanec

Lois Margaret (Zweber) Mazanec, age 86 of Mendota Heights, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 4, 2023.  Preceded in death by husband, Lawrence "Larry"; siblings, Robert "Bud" Zweber and Dorothy Chlan.  Survived by children, Stephen, David (Lori) and Michele Mazanec; grandchildren, Marshall (Autumn Crimmins) and Nicole Mazanec; Alessandro "Alex" Venturi; sister, Leola Laber; niece, Constance Zweber.  Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.

Lois was born to Florian and Elenora (Peters) Zweber at 4:30AM on the family farm in New Market, Minnesota on December 2, 1937.  She was the youngest of 4 children, preceded in birth by Bud, Dot and Lee.  Lois graduated high school from the Academy of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Mankato in 1955 and moved to St. Paul to do administrative work at Minnesota Mutual Life Insurance Company.  Lois then met her future husband, Larry, at a party and they quickly became each other's favorite dance partner.  After a period of courtship, Lois and Larry were united in marriage at the Church of St. Joseph in West St. Paul on November 28, 1964.  Lois became a devoted wife and mother of three children, Steve, Dave, and Michele.  When her youngest child reached school age, Lois returned to do administrative work at her husband's accounting firm and continued to do so until retirement.  Lois lost the love of her life, Larry, in September 2018 and remained in her family home until she passed away at 4:30AM on December 4, 2023.
