Obituary of LaVerne Mildred Milashius Brennan

LaVerne Mildred Milashius Brennan, age 99, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024 at United Hospital. Preceded in death by husband Judge Edward Thomas Brennan; parents Joseph and Mary Milashius; sisters Laura Joyce, Leona Milashius, Audrey Nord and Joan Van Orden. She is survived by daughters Maureen Brennan and Mary (Mark) Ronayne; grandchildren Claire and Thomas Ronayne; brother Joseph (Toni) Milashius; and a large number of loving nieces and nephews.

LaVerne lived a long and full life filled with homekeeping, tending to her family, gardening, traveling, visiting with her siblings and doting on her grandchildren. A huge Christmas celebration was guaranteed at her house every year. She was a big fan of opera with Luciano Pavarotti being her favorite. Her deep and abiding love of her faith wove its way throughout her life, cultivated through her education at St. Joseph’s Academy and the University of Minnesota, which led to her working for Bureau of Catholic Charities, Ramsey County Welfare Board and Ramsey County Probation Office. LaVerne’s faith also led to her membership in Nativity Council of Catholic Women and Home of the Good Shepherd.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, who truly enjoyed surrounding herself with her family.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Thursday, February 8 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, Stanford at Prior, St. Paul. Lunch after Mass. Private burial at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation at church 1 hour prior to mass. Memorials preferred to Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Paul, MN.
